Itineraries

Brac

|

With its steep sides and the highest peak in the Adriatic, Brac is a mammoth of and island. The western point of BRac hides the small town of Milna where most of the local yachtin community hangs out at the small but cheerful marina, before setting off to find a more secluded (and free) mooring spot for the night.

If you feel like a bit of excercise, hike up to Vidova Gora, the highest spot on the island, and from which the views are spectacular.

A smaller version of Dubrovnik with its fortification, narrow shaded streets and summer festivals, it has long been a favourite of the yachting community.

Latovo

|
button_check_availability.gif
One of the most remote islands in the region, it provides an ideal hideaway in its deep and hidden bays.

Full of great anchorages and swimming locations, it also boasts some fantastic restaurants for yachties, providing mooring and water while you dine. Don't miss the Scorpion fish and lobster if you find yourself in this area.

A third of the island is a National park today with two saline lakes hiding a small island with a Benedictine monastery. Arguably some of the most beautiful swimming locations in the Adriatic.

A short sail up the Krka river and you will find youself in the town of Skradin. Built around the Roman settlement of Scardone, today it is a small town full of character, good restaurants, and a springboard for those interested in visiting the Krka waterfalls further up river.

Zlarin
zlarin_sunset_sky.jpg
Initially populated by the inhabitants of SIbenik fleeing the black plague several hundred years ago. Today a popular mooring spot for yachties, it has always proved an interesting stopover for crews sailing either from the Southern Adriatic or from the Krka river, on their way to the Kornati archipelago.

Kornati
croatia_kornati_islands.jpg

Kornati is an archipelago of nearly a 100 largely uninhabited islands of really quite exceptional rugged beauty. Declared a National Park a couple of decades ago it is full of islets and bays to explore and swim around during a daytime swimstop.

Vis Island
A jewel in the Southern Adriatic in our opinion, with a colourful history, from Roman times, the Naploeonic wars, right through to WWII. Vis is also home to a number of spectacular restaurants, as well as secluded bays like, Stiniva, Srebrena and Stoncica bay.

Hell's Islands
Just outside Hvar town, Hell's islands are a small picturesque archipelago, where you can hide away in the crystal clear waters of its many coves for a relaxed afternoon swim, before heading off to Hvar for a few cocktails.

Sarahun beach
Located on "Dugi Otok" just North of the Kornati National Park, Saharun's sandy beach is a rare find in these waters.

Mana, Veli Rasip
Within the Western part of the Kornati Archipelago, the imposing cliffs of Mana and Veli Rasip are a must see when cruising through this stunning area.

Pustinja Blaca monastery
The 15th Century monastery, cut into the cliffs of Brac island, has been in the same family of monks for over 500 years, is a rare view into the past, and a great afternoon walk.

Mljet National Park
The saline lakes within the National Park on the island of Mljet, set amongst a thick pine forest, is really worth a visit, and mountain biking around the park is the best way to see it.

Hvar town
An obvious choice, although this fashionable port is really worth a visit during the Summer months, for its Venetian architecture, its impressive hilltop Fort, and of course the trendy cocktail bars, and lively night life

The Elafiti islands
Home to the Summer houses of the Dukes of Dubrovnik, the trio of Sipan, Lopud and Kolocep are also full of hidden coves that are best explored by sea kayak.

Visovac Island
Visovac can be found nestled in the middle of a mountainous lake above the Krka waterfalls, some 30 min drive inland from Skradin marina. A real treat in the shoulder season.

Skrivena Luka ("The Hidden harbour") - Lastovo island
Almost invisible when cruising around Lastovo, this former pirate hideaway, is now a pleasant bay ideal for a lazy afternoon's swimming and snorkelling, and don't forget to try the lobster and Scorpion fish in the tavern at the bottom of the bay.

Day 1 (Saturday) Kastela - Primosten

Transfer from Dubrovnik and sail three hours to Primosten, one of the most picturesque small towns on the Adriatic. The typical narrow streets of the old town are alive with cafes, cellar bars and restaurants. Dine in the evening on the seafront.

Day 2 Primosten - Skradin

After breakfast sail north into the Krka river and head for Skradin - a small and ancient city which goes back nearly two thousand years. Stroll around its charming streets, stopping off at the Bedrica wine shop and the large stone tavern in the main square, specialising in eels.

Day 3 Skradin - Zlarin

Set out early this morning for the Krka waterfalls: You can take a boat there, or hike if you're feeling energetic! After lunch, return to the open sea and the island of Zlarin, which boasts the longest stone pier in the Adriatic. Buy freshly-caught shellfish and ask the local Koralj restaurant to cook them for your supper!

Day 4 Zlarin - Telascica

After breakfast on board, sail to the entrance of the Kornati archipelago, stopping for a swim and lunch. Reach the protected area of Telascica Bay by mid-afternoon. Before dinner, take an early evening walk to the Lake of Peace at the edge of Uvala Mir, for spectacular views from the cliffs.

Day 5 Telascica - Lavsa/Smokvica

Sail south through the Kornati archipelago, stopping at the Islet of Levrnaka for a swim. View the impressive cliffs of Mana Island before lunching at one of the konoba taverns. Moor at Lavsa or Smokvica island, with spectacular panoramic views over the whole archipelago . Eat at the Piccol (the Turcinov brothers catch fish for their mother to cook) or at Ante's (a celebrated octopus fisherman).

Day 6 Smokvica/Lavsa - Kaprije

Sail for the island of Kaprije, either mooring beside the town or in the less well-known Vanjska and Gacice bays. Try the local taverns known for their fish dishes.

Day 7 Kaprije - Kastela

Set sail after breakfast, stopping for one last swim near the island of Veli Drvenik. Back in Kastela, dine at the tavern next to the marina or stroll down to the seafront. Or let us to take you our favourite haunt in Trogir, an old wooden sailboat serving magnificent fish stew, to round off a truly memorable holiday!
